QUEEN CREEK, AZ – Matthew Irons and USHealth Advisors have partnered to offer Arizona teachers and their families an affordable alternative to health plans now available under Obamacare. Two recent studies show that Obamacare’s new rate hikes in Arizona, cloud with rigid IRS legislation may make it impossible for teachers and their families to afford health coverage under Obamacare.

“When someone decides they want to be a teacher, they understand they are not going to get rich,” said Matthew Irons, CEO of Irons Family Insurance. “Their mission is to educate and empower children’s lives. However, what is happening in our healthcare system can potentially ruin a teacher’s budget and potentially force them to look at different options. We’re solving this problem today.” Irons is an Arizona health insurance expert and author of the book Surviving Obamacare: Money Saving Solutions for Today’s Healthcare Crisis.

Irons along with USHealth Advisors have an affordable Obamacare alternative. Based on the premise that people today need unique and affordable solutions to provide excellent coverage to protect themselves and their families, the new plans provide an affordable Obamacare alternative with multiple health plans and flexible plan designs. “With our help people can find affordable health care options that work best for them”, Irons continued.

The data show how severe the problem is becoming. A study by HealthPocket, “Without Subsidies Women & Men, Old & Young Average Higher Monthly Premiums with Obamacare”, examined the premiums of health policies before healthcare reform in 2013 and after in 2014. It’s reported that some groups of people have experienced a premium increase of as much as 78%. “I was surprised in general to see the differences in terms of the average premiums in the pre-reform and post-reform markets,” noted Kev Coleman, head of research and data at HealthPocket.com. According to Mr. Irons, “This is a very common problem among teachers, district employees, and anyone who has access to group coverage, but their rates are just too expensive. I am thrilled to be able to help these families find quality coverage alternatives they can afford”.

A new report by PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Health Research Institute forecasts even worse outcomes in 2015, estimating that Arizona will face double-digit rate hikes. In addition, one of the frustrating IRS rulings of the healthcare reform law is that if dependents have “access” to an employer group plan they will NOT receive subsidies to help pay down individual health insurance premiums. “Unfortunately, what is happening is the teacher or district employee may have an affordable rate for themselves ONLY, but once they add their family to the plan the premiums skyrocket and become outrageously expensive. To make matters worse, because these families have access to group coverage they will not receive any subsidy to help with an individual health plans in the marketplace”, Irons added.
