Aug. 28, 2014 – The Wyoming Lottery Corporation today reported that 4,889 players won a total of $21,028, during its first Mega Millions® drawing Tuesday night and 2,805 players won a total of $25,009 during its first Powerball® drawing Wednesday night.

“I’m very happy to see Wyoming residents winning so quickly after the launch of the lottery,” said Jon Clontz, Wyoming Lottery CEO. “The support for the lottery has been tremendous and sales are going well.”

Clontz encourged players to check wyolotto.com to see if they have won.

Wyoming residents have many chances to win with the next Mega Millions drawings being held on Friday, Aug. 29 and the Powerball drawing on Saturday, Aug. 30. The current estimated Powerball jackpot is $90 million and Mega Millions is $20 million.

WINNERS FROM POWERBALL DRAWING ON AUG. 27The largest amount in the Aug. 27 Powerball drawing was $300. The winner bought their ticket at Smith's Food and Drug Centers, Inc. in Riverton on Aug. 24. The winner purchased their Mega Millions ticket with the multiplier option. Their total wager was $2 and resulted in a larger payout. Instead of winning $500 the player won $2,500. The Megaplier was 5x- increasing their total winnings to $2,500 ($500 multiplied by 5).

Two players won $500 - one player purchased a ticket at Jerry’s Interstate Service in Casper on Aug. 24 and another player purchased a ticket at the Kum & Go in Kemmerer on Aug. 26. For this particular drawing, if the two $500 winners had played the Megaplier, they would have increased their total winnings to $2,500.
