SEATTLE (Oct. 22, 2014) –Home to Mount Fuji, more than five million vending machines, and a festival that celebrates the penis and fertility (serious!), Japan is many things to many people. For the RIDE Snowboards crew that sampled the countries offerings for Episode 2 of the “Built to Ride” web series, what they found in this distant land ranged from super-sized urban street jams to trendy Japanese hairdressers.

Following the RIDE athletes’ throw down in skill and fun up north in Quebec City in Episode 1, the “Built to Ride” adventure lands the RIDE squad in The Land of the Rising Sun in Episode 2 for sessions of taming the best street spots and soaking up culture.

Riders Alex Sherman and Austin Hironaka show off their stoke for snowboarding by applying their creative twists on urban riding, while dispensing good humor and laughs with everyone they meet. Along their travels, the duo meets up with some Far East friends to sample some of the lesser known, Grade A street stashes that turn out some unreal footage.

The four-part “Built to Ride” web series showcases the combination of raw talent, drive, and lifestyle of RIDE athletes exploring different locations around the world. Episode 3, which drops on Nov. 5, brings the team back a little closer to home as they continue their search for the goods in Snoqualmie, Washington. A new episode launches every two weeks and can be watched on RIDE’s website.

The series includes RIDE’s: Alex Cantin, Alex Sherman, Hana Beaman, Austin Hironaka, Derrek Lever, Beau Bishop, and Todd Kirby. “Built to Ride” was filmed and edited by Tommy Little.
