Jackalope Action Sports Festival

The third annual Jackalope action sports festival, presented by Amnesia, went down at Esplanade Financière Sun Life at the Olympic Park, in Montréal,, Quebec,Canada last weekend, July 18-20 2014 with contests  and events featuring skateboarding, longboarding, BMX, freestyle motocross, slackline,  parkour, fixed gear cycling, wakeskating,  and an action sports video contest, for an adrenaline-filled weekend for pros, amateurs, and fans.

The event producer, Micah Desforges, a skateboarder and owner of Ripper Skateboards has promoted and is an advocate for action sports culture as President of  Tribu Expérientel.  Jackalope is an initiative of Tribu Expérientel and the Action Sports Association.

Jackalope celebrates the culture and adventure in  variety of extreme sports events that even young visitors could just try out and have fun. The Jackalope credo: Live Fast! Fly High! Be Free! Join the Fun!

The three-day format was new for this year, after a hugely successful festival in 2013. Desforges said, “In 2013 it was so crowded and was received with so much positivity that we were like, ‘We have to add an extra day.’ ”

The pro skateboarding event was a  World Cup Sk8 event, the first time in seven years Canada has hosted such an event, with riders from all over the world who came  to shred. “Jackalope feels extremely privileged to be granted a spot in the WCS circuit- the only one on Canadian soil. The event will welcome world-class athletes from around the globe, which will raise this year’s event to a whole other level,: said Desforges.
