Members of the Las Vegas Philharmonic to perform at the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance Annual Dinner on Thursday, Oct. 2

(Las Vegas – September 18, 2014) – Members of the Las Vegas Philharmonic (LVP) will perform at the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance Annual Dinner at 5 p.m., Thursday, Oct.2 at the ARIA Resort & Casino. LVP is donating the music for the dinner to showcase innovative classical work and performances by LVP musicians in different community venues.

Members of the trio performing are LVP Concertmaster De Ann Letourneau, LVP Violinist Rebecca Ramsey and DJ/Composer Aaron Ramsey. Their electronic multitrack work combines electronic dance music with more traditional classical forms.

“We’re excited to share the versatility of our musicians at the LVGEA dinner with this groundbreaking trio,” said LVP’s President and CEO Jeri Crawford. “Partnering with the LVGEA helps to promote cultural awareness in our community, as well as continued economic vitality of Southern Nevada.”

The innovative trio called Vertex3 produces a unique sound created by using a range of performance techniques blending recorded tracks and live music of two violins. The result is acoustic but also post-electronic, an emerging genre combining live and mixed, recorded tracks.

“When I think about the word ‘community,’ it’s important to look at that holistically and connect the cultural aspects in a region to the industries that drive their economy,” said Tom Skancke, president and CEO of LVGEA.  “The Las Vegas Philharmonic’s support of LVGEA’s annual dinner will not only elevate the experience of our guests, but, as a regional asset, will also showcase a cultural asset that helps us market Southern Nevada as home.”

The Las Vegas Philharmonic, founded in 1998, is Southern Nevada’s only professional symphony orchestra.  A proud resident company of The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, the Las Vegas Philharmonic, under the leadership of music director Donato Cabrera, brings a valued and vibrant cultural dimension to the city, providing nearly 15,000 children each year with vital access to music education programs and showcasing local talents alongside stellar guest artists and conductors on the Reynolds Hall stage with its Masterworks Series and Pops Series of concerts.  At the orchestra’s core is 76 contracted professional musicians, many of whom are esteemed educators and who perform in other professional productions in Las Vegas, bringing depth and variety to the organization.

The Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance annual dinner at the ARIA Resort and Casino, 3730 S Las Vegas Blvd., will begin with a VIP reception at 5 p.m., a cocktail hour at 5:30 p.m. and dinner from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $250 advance purchase and $275 at the door.
