This week our collaborators at the PBS debate show Point Taken focus on the idea of reparations for slavery and Jim Crow.

Writing for The Conversation, Carlton Mark Waterhouse of Indiana University argues that reparations for slavery should take the form of monuments, museums, memorials, and educational programs. He’d limit compensatory schemes to victims of Jim Crow era discrimination.

What do you think? Tune into your PBS station on Tuesday May 10 at 11 p.m. EST/10 p.m. CST to hear more arguments on the issue – without the shouting. Make your voice heard on the Point Taken website by answering our poll question: “Should the U.S. pay reparations to black Americans?"
