Sydney 17 November 2014. 60% of surveyed Australian professionals are anticipating a pay rise and 38% are anticipating a bonus in 2015, according to the latest findings from specialist recruitment consultancy Robert Walters.

The Robert Walters Pay & Bonus Survey covered a range of professions including accounting, banking, HR, IT, sales, marketing, engineering and business support and questioned respondents on their career plans and remuneration expectations.

It found that the number of Australians anticipating higher pay is greater than the number of Australians who reported receiving a salary rise (47%) or bonus (26%) in 2014, although expectations for the amount of the remuneration increase are fairly modest.

The Robert Walters Pay & Bonus Survey also found that 45% of Australian professionals are looking to leave their job in the next three months, and 76% are looking to move at some point in the next two years. Just 24% are completely satisfied in their roles and said they are not thinking about changing roles.

Robert Walters Managing Director of Australia and New Zealand, James Nicholson, said:

“For those Australian professionals considering changing roles, there are a number of factors at play. Salary is always an important consideration in any decision to take a new role, but we also recommend employers look at the kinds of opportunities that they offer in terms of internal training, short courses and secondments to other departments in order to attract the best talent.”
