In a New Zealand and Australian first, a green tick has just been given from New Zealand’s Ministry of Health for the import and distribution of three Australian medicinal cannabis dried flower products, with one strain already available to patients.

This means New Zealanders can now visit their GP and request a range of medicinal cannabis dried flower, after the medicinal cannabis company Australian Natural Therapeutics Group (ANTG) were officially granted verificiation, becoming the first company to legally sell dried flower in New Zealand.

Eve, Rocky and Mariposa flower’s can be accessed through New Zealand’s largest medicinal cannabis distributor, NUBU Pharmaceuticals.

Dr Wazeem Alzaher who runs Cannabis Clinic NZ and prescribes ANTG’s dried flower to New Zealand patients confirms the demand for the products.

“Since the legalisation of medicinal cannabis in New Zealand in 2020, more than 6000 patients have been requesting such products, with 8 in 10 of our patents waiting for the approval to assist with chronic pain.”

Matt Cantelo CEO of Australian Natural Therapeutics Group (ANTG) said “It’s a historic moment in medicine for both countries, with our verifications meaning New Zealand patients can finally visit their GP to request alternatives for conditions such as chronic pain and many more.”

“It means our Kiwi neighbours can now access the highest quality Australian flower while their home-grown cultivation industry starts producing.”

“The approved distribution for ANTG & NUBU will help stop the growing list of those who are chronically ill and being forced to the black market, or even trying to grow their own, which is not legal, nor safe.”

Australian Natural Therapeutics Group is currently one of the only producers of CBD only medical grade dried flower and their verified range now includes their products CBD Flower Eve, and THC & CBD Flowers, Rocky and Mariposa.

“We’ve cultivated products that have adhered to the required medicinal standard, including in quality and purity - even more so than other countries like Canada, which are leaders in cultivation of medicinal cannabis.”

“The high benchmarks in Australia for growing and producing medicinal cannabis has set us up as the best in the world,” he said.

“We have a reputation and climate for growing excellent produce in general - it makes sense that we would produce the highest quality medicinal cannabis product as well.”

ANTG’s growing and manufacturing facility complies with international quality standards (GACP and GMP), securing the gold standard in growing and manufacturing medicinal cannabis.

Co-Founder & CEO of NUBU Pharmaceuticals, Mark Dye says “It was six years ago this month that Co-Founder and COO of NUBU Will Douglas, and I sat down and decided to start NUBU. To finally be achieving everything we set out to do, is incredibly exciting. “

“Ultimately though, it's the patients who are going to benefit the most from this news - many of which have been fighting for this opportunity for decades. We are thrilled that we have been able to help make this happen ” said Mr Dye.
