Movelab - Creative Movement Courses kick off on Sept 15 at Ductac

Founded in October 2013 and following a successful first season, Movelab is starting the new school year on September 15, 2014. These Creative Movement courses are unique in the UAE. 
  MOVELAB is Dubai’s first Dance Centre focusing on Creative Dance Education, a dance opportunity for EVERYONE to explore the power of creative movement. What makes MOVELAB unique is the conceptual approach to dance rather than an imitating approach. Students are encouraged to investigate fundamental dance concepts such as body, space and time.

With MOVELAB students develop movement skills that promote both creative and analytic potential. The activities foster a non-competitive, individual, cooperative and enjoyable environment of physical challenge. Whether for a kid or an adult, a complete beginner or a professional performer, MOVELAB has a suitable Dance Education for everyone.

Special attention is given to coordination, alignment, balance, strength, flexibility and good posture. Creative Movement is an introduction and complementation to any type of dance, sport and art form.

Students attending the course will strengthen confidence, develop self-discipline, cooperative behavior, attention span and positive emotions. And most of all, students get the chance to invent, learn and perform their own dances to their favorite music in ‘in studio’ shows!

A unique and fabulous course that combines physical exercice, creativeness and self-confidence development.

For the new school year MOVELAB will offer Creative Movement courses to all ages in Ductac, Mall of the Emirates, and other locations. 

Toddlers: Sundays & Tuesdays 12:45-13:15 at Child’s Play and Small World

4-6 years old: Mondays 15:15 to 16:00 at Ductac

7-12 years old: Tuesdays 16:15 to 17:15 at Ductac

Adults: Wednesdays 19:00 to 20:00 at Ductac

All Creative Movement courses are a package of 10 classes, the cost is 800 AED.

About Monica Antezana

Founder and director of MOVELAB, Monica Antezana is a Contemporary Dance Professional who obtained a MA in Science of Education (Universidad Mayor de San Simón, Bolivia), a BA in Dance and Choreography (Rotterdam Dance Academy, The Netherlands) and a MA in Performances Studies (Hamburg University, Germany). She works as a freelance choreographer, performer and movement educator.  She danced since childhood choreographed since her teenage years and has been teaching Educational Dance for more than19 years. Since 2006 Monica produced, choreographed and performed in Hamburg and toured in Germany five solos, one group piece and one duet. During 2007 she was Resident Choreographer at K3 Centre for Choreography Hamburg. She was invited with her solo ‘babel fish moves’ for the German Dance Platform 2010. In 2013 Monica founded MOVELAB Dance Centre with base in Dubai.  She performed her solo ‘I laban you!’ at The Fridge for Quoz Happens 2013.
