KANSAS CITY RESTAURANT WEEK RETURNS FOR SIXTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR, JAN. 16-25, 2015

Nearly 100 restaurants already registered – the most in the event’s history at this point in the planning stages

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Aug. 13, 2014) – Kansas City Restaurant Week returns Jan. 16-25, 2015 with nearly 100 restaurants already registered to participate in the 10-day, metro-wide dining event. January marks the highly-anticipated event’s sixth year, encouraging local and visiting diners to experience new restaurants and revisit old favorites. Participants in 2015 Kansas City Restaurant Week offer multi-course meals for lunch and dinner from pre-determined, fixed menus for $15 at lunch and $33 at dinner. Participating restaurants create custom menus from existing, new and “limited time only” dishes.

Reaffirming their commitment to social and civic responsibility, the event’s co-founders, the Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association and the Kansas City Convention & Visitors Association, selected three local organizations, through a formal process, as beneficiaries of 2015 Kansas City Restaurant Week. Ten percent of all proceeds from Restaurant Week meals sold during the ten days benefits these charitable partners. Tremendous support by local and visiting diners helped Kansas City Restaurant Week raise more than $750,000 that benefited local charities during the first five years of the dining event.

Donations raised during the 2015 event benefit BoysGrow, an urban-farming initiative whose mission is to teach entrepreneurism to urban male youth; Children’s Center for the Visually Impaired, an organization offering training and educational programs to visually-impaired children and their families; and Cultivate Kansas City, an organization providing incentives for low-income families to shop at local farmers markets. The Kansas City Regional Destination Development Foundation and the Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association Education Foundation also receive a share of the 2015 donations.
