Kiev – The founders of We.Ua, a patriotic social network in Ukraine, are launching a campaign to raise funds for the First National Hackathon in Kiev. The event will use the power of the Internet and technology to unite the youth of their country currently embroiled in war.

Ukraine, the largest country in Europe, is fighting for its independence and state unity. Thousands of people have lost their homes and risked their lives. Many are afraid of dreaming or making plans for the future.

The young entrepreneurs decided to step up to re-connect and empower the people in the chaos of war and to galvanize communications with the rest of the world through an online community We.Ua . The network is available in English, Ukrainian and Russian languages and already has attained more than 50,000 signups.

The founders are also planning to organize the National Hackathon in December in Kiev. The event will provide unparalleled opportunities for software developers, web designers, hardware hackers, students and anyone interested in technology to connect, collaborate and create. It will identify the most valuable incentives and help to connect their authors with potential partners, customers and investors.
