On July 29, 2014 E. Rilla inked a deal with Strait Def Entertainment's to be the headliner for the Strait Def Tour's Alpha Dog team.
On July 29, 2014 E. Rilla inked a deal with Strait Def Entertainment's to be the headliner for the Strait Def Tour's Alpha Dog team. “E. Rilla is the truth! After watching and listening to E. Rilla’s official video I’m Gone produced by DJ Corbett and observing the strong social engagement and passionate support of his fans on social media, I instantly knew that I wanted to finally put my new hypothesis to test and sign E. Rilla to a 1-year exclusive public relations, marketing, booking, and management deal as soon as possible,” said Strait.
In the last few weeks, Strait Def Entertainment has been scouring the top 25 rap cities in U.S. to sign several more great rappers to tour with headlining act E. Rilla. Strait said, “After hundreds of artists’ submissions, Strait Def has been fortunate enough to sign long time California rap artist Lamborghini Ace, who has a new single out featuring Three Six Mafia founding member and current rap star Juicy J, as well as southern diamond in the rough rap artist Ken Swagg, who is out of Dallas, Texas.” Strait Def is still on the lookout for two more artists to complete the Alpha Dog team of artists for the first year Strait Def Tour. “My team and I came up with the name Alpha Dog from the concept of XXL’s Freshman Class. I have to be unique, so I definitely did not want to copy their term ‘Freshman Class’, so we decided to put our own swag and vibe to it,” said Strait.
Strait Def plans to kick off the Texas leg of their Strait Def Tour in Houston, Texas and then travel to the rest of the three major cities in the state of Texas, starting in the month of October. “E” comes from his first name’s initial, and “Rilla” comes from him keeping it real with himself and everyone around him. ‘E has to be Rilla because there’s a lot of fakes in the game now.’
He describes his music as unique and different, but if he were to compare his style and music to just one person, he says it would be Jay-Z because of his thought process. Jay is similar to him because of the way he analyzes everything and is very strategic.
Rilla gets most of his musical influence from the days when he would walk through the house hearing his uncle blasting 2Pac, all day everyday. Rilla says that he had no choice but to like him, but is thankful to his uncle for that, because that has made E. Rilla the artist he is today.
