Rove supports Obama's 'good start'

Karl Rove praised President Barack Obama on Monday, saying that targeted airstrikes in Iraq are a “good start” to a solid foreign policy strategy to combat the growing threat of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.
“It’s a good start, and I have to compliment the president,” Rove said on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends.”
Continue ReadingWhen asked about the 145 airstrikes that happened over a monthlong time period in Iraq, Rove said that the president is “doing the right thing,” despite the fact that launching strikes goes against “every fiber of [Obama’s] being” by showing faults in his previous foreign policy.
“He does not want to have military action in Iraq because it reflects badly on his failure to get a status of forces agreement that would have kept Iraq stable, and it reflects badly on his failure to lead a year ago, or six months ago, or three months ago,” Rove said.
He continued, saying that while he feels the air attacks are just a start, he is urging Americans to give their “support” to the president if he lays out a strategy in handling ISIL.
“I’m one of those people who thinks that the level of air attacks — 145 air attacks in over 30 some odd days, five air attacks a day on average — that’s not really a lot in terms of operational tempo, but it is a start,” he said. “We ought to support our president if he comes forward with a reasonable, sensible plan to confront this existential threat to our interests in this region.”...
