Sydney 29 August 2014. Hot on the heels of the his acquisition of fashion labels Zambelli and Nick Green, Sydney Entrepreneur Dorry Kordahi of DKM Blue has added 2 more Aussie brands to his growing stable: Studibaker and China Doll. Along with the purchase comes an exclusive distribution license for the French women’s wear fashion label, Rene Derhy.

Originally founded in Sydney in 1982, Studibaker has been an enduring and beloved label, with its exclusive yet accessible dresses that hark back to the glamour of 1950s Hollywood. So prestigious is the label that a selection of the garments can be found in Sydney’s Powerhouse Museum.

For Kordahi, this acquisition is the final component of part one of a much larger plan. This will will see all the brands in his portfolio enjoy the perks of DKM Blue’s long established office in China - which will translate into the best cost benefit ratio and marketability inherent in being part of a wide stable of brands.

‘Essentially, by bringing all the brands together, I can reduce a host of costs and make each of the brands more cost efficient in a way that would not be possible as stand-alones in this fiercely competitive industry.’ says Kordahi. ‘This really is the only way we can take on the massive overseas, online players that continue come onto the Australian market.’
