London, October 23, 2014 Sodexo Benefits and Rewards Services UK, a leading provider of employee benefits and rewards services, is proud to be among the first entities to be certified by the Aon Hewitt Best Employer Programme.
The programme compares organisations to identify those that strive to create a competitive advantage through their people and become employers of choice. It recognises organisations that are driving high employee engagement, effective leadership, a high performance culture and a compelling employer brand strategy. The methodology is based on over 20 years of employee research experience at Aon Hewitt, including more than 10 years of local Best Employer Studies.
Sodexo Benefits and Rewards Services UK has been recognised as an Aon Hewitt Certified Best Employer based on the opinions of 94% of its employees who took part in the study, measured against standards from the Aon Hewitt global employee engagement database.
Sodexo Benefits and Rewards Services ensures its staff are at the heart of everything it does and uses its values as guidelines for behaviour both inside the organisation and externally. Sodexo tries hard to offer an engaging work environment where people feel they can personally make a difference and receive the training and development needed to do their jobs well. From September 2013 to August 2014, each employee received an average of 25 hours of training and over 84% received a loyal service award.
In addition, Sodexo Benefits and Rewards Services has used its own online reward and recognition platform to encourage and streamline peer-to-peer nominations, which resulted in a 300% increase in nominations! Last year a ‘League of Stars’ initiative was also introduced in which internal teams compete against one another in informal monthly challenges to encourage team building and engagement. Recognition is also received via quarterly attendance awards, as a result its employee attendance rate is 99%.
Most recently Sodexo launched its new Money Boost employee benefit to its staff which is designed to enhance employee financial wellbeing. These practical initiatives, along with the successful application of its own products and services from which Sodexo Benefits and Rewards Services’ employees have benefitted enormously, may have contributed to this award.
Iain McMath, CEO of Sodexo Benefits and Rewards Services, says:
“We are extremely proud to be recognised for this award. Sodexo has always had a strong focus on its people and, as the leader in Quality of Life Services, we understand that the engagement of our employees is central to our mission and a driver of performance, both for Sodexo and our clients.
At Sodexo Benefits and Rewards Services, we practice what we preach. Our employees use the same services and HR solutions that Sodexo provides for its own clients, designed to increase motivation, engagement and contribution. This combination of recognition and health and wellbeing programmes, along with our training and development, all actively support our staff and helps drive success and growth.”
