The young Venezuelan/American international recording artist and soloist Carmine Miranda releases his second classical recording titled Piatti: 12 Caprices For Solo Cello. A joint undertaking between the young cellist and the classical music label Navona Records has already received rave reviews from music critics around the world.

Fanfare Magazine writes about this recording as “incredible performances of works that should interest every cellist and that should be in the library of anyone who appreciates the cello and hearing it played by a consummate master like Carmine Miranda”. Classical music critic Mary Ellyn Hutton describes “Thanks to Miranda, it is to be hoped that these impressive and colorful works will return to the concert stage”.

At a mere twenty five years of age, this recording places Carmine Miranda as the youngest cellist to professionally record and release this repertoire worldwide. Alfredo Piatti (1822-1901) is known for composing one of the most difficult set of pieces for the violoncello. The 12 Caprices is a set recognized for its technical difficulty and complexity, and widely used as developmental exercises for cellists.

For his Navona Records debut, Carmine Miranda interprets Piatti’s virtuosic solo cello pieces masterfully, showing them as works that withstand treatment as significant concert repertoire.
