A Restaurant In The Amalfi Coast That Stands Out

  • Written by Irina

Da Gabrisa restaurant that started serving people in 2003 proudly says they stand out among the Positano restaurants . They offer a culinary experience typical of the Amalfi Coast. The menu mainly consists of local traditional recipes and more particularly, those that belong to the Neapolitan tradition that is being passed down from one generation to the next. Among the restaurants in Positano, they are unique because they carefully select each ingredient by checking if they are market-fresh. They also provide the discerning guests with a wide selection of wines from their exhaustive wine list. This makes the comfortable ambiance of their restaurant all the more romantic and special for the guests to share a meal or a glass of wine with their partners or friends.

They take pride in pointing out that it is their undiluted focus on using the finest products available in the market that has lifted them to the position of the best restaurant in Positano. They are a family run restaurant and since many years, every member of their family has been focusing only on carefully choosing every ingredient for which they visit the fish and vegetable markets personally. They further add that their menu mainly consists of organic and high-quality products made of ingredients like Pastadi Gragnano, Tuna from Sicily and Cetara, tomatoes from Vesuvius, lemons from Amalfy Coast, beans from Controne and fish caught locally. Some of the products they use are listed by the Slow Food Association also. The list amply proves to the guests the quality of the recipes they serve. In short, they use only delicious and uncontaminated products offered by nature and the sea.

Further, though there are many restaurants Amalfi Coast, the specialty about this restaurant is guests can have the amazing view of the sea from the terrace and even from its indoor tables. While dining, guests will find themselves surrounded by flowers and they can have the enchanting views of the Fornillo’s Bay and the Li’Galli Islands which Léonide Massine and Rudol’f Nureev once owned.

According to a mythological story, these islands were once inhabited by Sirens. Da Gabrisa Restaurant says that every member of their family, since their childhood, has been involving themselves in the restaurant tasks such as feeding the animals, taking care of the gardens, and helping in preparation for big dinners. They proudly add they continue to stick to the culinary traditions with undiminished enthusiasm.

They add that guests who choose them among the Amalfi Coast restaurants and who taste the foods they offer will remember with nostalgia the local delicacies of the past. They are different from other restaurants Positano because they conduct classes also for cooking their recipes. Guests can make use of these classes so that they can be a part of this authentic cooking experience.
