Pet Rescue Korea has taken up a unique initiative to fundraise and find adopters for dogs that manage to make it out of slaughter houses alive. This comes as an extension of the ban-dog-meat campaign launched some time back. Under the campaign, the website has called for mass support from people who share similar sentiments for dogs. The website has already raised more than $2000 for the campaign and is edging close to the goal of raising $3000.

In South Korea, praise-worthy work has been done by pet activists who have rescued many innocent dogs from flesh markets and dog-flesh serving restaurants. Pet Rescue Korea aims at creating an international awareness on the plight of these animals, felicitating their easy adoption. The site brings the golden opportunity to international donors to donate for the noble cause. The site creators are resolute in continuing with the campaign unless there are proper laws that ban the sale of dog meat in Korea.

Unfortunately the leading rescue site Animal Rescue Korea closed on September 1^st and with it dog adoption through the site also saw an end. Pet Rescue intends to ensure that surviving dogs still have the chance of being adopted through the site. For this sole reason, the web masters have sought support from the international animal-loving community so that the costs incurred in hosting the website, graphic designing and custom software are covered. The website manager recently said in an interview: “The website is not yet fully ready, but it is amazing to learn of the support we already have. This has given us renewed inspiration to continue the good work.”

Another founder member of the website laid stress on the need for signing the dog-rescue petition. He said: “Despite all the awareness, fact is that dogs are still slaughtered in thousands. We request every compassionate heart around the globe to sign the petition. We also extend our sincerest felicitations to those who have already lent their voice to the cause.
