Information Builders Ranks First Across Peer Groups for Delivering Business Benefits in BARC’s BI Survey 14

BI Provider Also Ranks High for Performance and Self-Service in Industry’s Largest Independent Global Survey

New York, NY – October 1, 2014 – Information Builders, a leader in business intelligence (BI) and analytics, information integrity and integration solutions, today announced that it led in a range of categories in the industry’s largest independent global survey as the vendor delivering the highest level of business benefits. Conducted by German-based Business Application Research Center (BARC), the BI Survey 14 also found that Information Builders is distinguished from other BI vendors by its performance and support of self-service BI environments.

Information Builders’ WebFOCUS BI platform was evaluated against numerous metrics in four peer groups: Large International BI Vendor, Large Scale Enterprise Reporting Vendor, Dashboard Vendor and Ad Hoc Reporting Vendor. The company was the top-ranked vendor for delivering business benefits in every category and was the leader in facilitating project success in the Large International BI Vendor and Large Scale Enterprise Reporting Vendor peer groups. In addition, the company was consistently recognised across peer groups for the overall performance of its products and its vendor support in the Large International BI Vendor and Large Scale Enterprise Reporting Vendor peer groups.

The BARC survey also recognised Information Builders as the top-ranked supplier of operational BI tools and self-service BI environments in several peer groups. According to the report, the latter is becoming a functionality of increased enterprise interest as organisations look to extend the benefits of BI and analytics to all stakeholders.

Information Builders offers numerous solutions to address this need, including WebFOCUS InfoDiscovery, which allows even non-technical users to visually analyse complex data sets and improve data-driven decision-making. Another advantage of Information Builders’ self-service solutions is the ability for organisations to build InfoApps™ and deliver specific business-focused BI applications with an “app store” –like experience for distributing them. With its ability to scale and support a large volume of users efficiently, Information Builders ensures that organisations can leverage InfoDiscovery, InfoApps and its other self-service solutions to enable more widespread BI deployments, without sacrificing speed or performance.

“When looking at overall performance, Information Builders’ customers place the vendor in the first-place spot across a variety of product categories,” said Dr. Carsten Bange, founder and CEO of BARC. “In addition to obtaining value from its products, the company’s customers agree that it provides superior after-sales support – a critical service where many vendors do not provide enough resources to meet the expectations of their customers.”

“These and other results of the BI Survey demonstrate that Information Builders is well-positioned to deliver solutions that its enterprise customers need to compete in the highly competitive global economy of the 21st century. Ensuring that our customers realise the highest possible return on their BI investments is Information Builders’ top priority,” said Gerald Cohen, president and CEO of Information Builders. “I’m honoured to see us rank so highly in this latest BARC report. The results underscore that companies are continuing to derive value from traditional deployments, while simultaneously expanding the usage of BI tools and apps to an emerging crop of users. We look forward to continue supporting these efforts and helping organisations worldwide operate more efficiently through better access to information.”
